TEST INFORMATION FOR FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES
If you are a freshman or a sophomore, the most important tests you will have to consider at this point of your high school career are the the Advanced Placement Tests (APs), the International Baccalaureate Tests (IB), and the AICE Tests offered by your school.
If you are enrolled in an AICE (Cambridge), IB, or AP curriculum, you will need to take corresponding exams at the end of the year. Your scores—whether pass/fail for AICE, on a 1-7 scale for IB, or on a scale of one to five for AP—will determine whether you choose to submit them as part of your college admissions process or not.
These test scores demonstrate your academic strengths and college readiness, therefore, you need to carefully plan your test taking strategies. It is strongly advised that students book a meeting to discuss these strategies.
Let's get to learning about SAT, ACT and other standardized tests!
Test Prep: Early Years

INFORMATION FOR SOPHOMORES
By the end of your sophomore year, you want to start thinking about the upcoming SAT and ACT, which are the standardized tests that many colleges require as part of your admissions process. While we recommend to start formal test preparation in August right before beginning your junior year, taking a mock SAT and a mock ACT during your sophomore year can help you identify which test aligns better with your strengths, allowing you to focus your preparation more effectively.
We typically advise students to take both official tests at least once, not just the mock exams. However, when it comes to preparation, we recommend focusing on the one that best suits your abilities to maximize your performance.
