Managing Deferrals
A deferral outcome is not a rejection. Let's discuss its strategies and next steps!

Receiving a deferral decision from a college can be confusing and, at times, disappointing. However, a deferral does not mean a rejection! Rather, it means the college would like to review your application again in the regular decision pool.
To help you navigate this stage effectively, please visit the Managing Deferrals page. You are required to watch the video outlining the recommended next steps and key strategies for responding to a deferral.
One of the most important aspects of managing a deferral is demonstrating continued interest. Students are encouraged to reach out to colleges to reaffirm their interest and to share any meaningful updates since submitting their application, such as academic improvements, new achievements, or leadership experiences, that may strengthen their candidacy. The Managing Deferrals page also includes template letters for reference on how to write to admissions about your continued interest. Please remember that these template letters CANNOT BE USED VERBATIM! They are intended ONLY as an example for you to get a head start. These letters have been written by EduPlan students in the past and copying their content could raise a red flag within the admissions committees.
Best of luck!
